That will always be determined by the block deck height and the compressed head gasket thickness and the positive piston deck clearance which all of these engines have. I've run that tight with very light winston cup pistons in a 383, but my heavier nitrous pistons in my 434 all but kiss the heads with.040" clearance. I can read the part number from the piston in the carbon on the bottom of the head. It wipes off, so its not actually touch.

I'm in the process of installing a RE 14:1 piston and when I went to check my deck height I found the piston is above the cylinder about .0035". I'm running a stock yamaha head gasket and I think there only .015- .020" thick. So that would leave my piston to head clearance around .012- .017" and it should be closer to .040" from what I understand.
